Standards

  • Leathercrafting is an art and variations are inherent.  As such, products with slight variations in color, texture, size, shape, etc., are not considered defective, but are the product of a uniquely hand-crafted item.
  • When customer owned items are provided for laser marking/etching/engraving some very minor alignment issues should be expected.  There are no industry standard templates for engraving unique items, and creating templates for them is a meticulous and time-consuming job.  Every effort is made to be as exact as possible but some slight alignment issues should be expected; this is not considered a defect.
  • Spelling, artwork, and general placement of laser marking/etching/engraving will be proofed by the customer/purchaser and agreed upon prior to production.  Misspelled words, wrong numbers, reversed images, etc. are therefore the responsibility of the approving customer and not JPVM; these is not considered defects.

Shipping

Shipping Restrictions/PO Boxes

The customer is responsible for knowing his/her state laws regarding purchased items.

Shipping addresses are captured from the customer’s purchase agreement form and accuracy is the responsibility of the customer/purchaser.  Shipping corrections made after shipment of product, not due to the seller’s (JPVM) error, are the responsibility of the customer.  JPVM is not responsible for packages lost or damaged in transit.

JPVM abides by all Federal Regulations regarding Hazardous Material, and Restricted Matter shipped through United States Postal Service. A hazardous material is any article or substance designated by the U.S. Department of Transportation as being capable of posing an unreasonable risk to health, safety, or property during transportation.  Restricted matter includes articles on which mailing restrictions have been imposed for reasons other than risk of harm to persons or property involved in moving the mail.

Handling of Firearms

Personally owned firearms delivered for the purpose of laser engraving may be picked back up by the same person.  If another person must pick up a firearm that was delivered, a proper background check and Transfer (form 4473) must be performed for the person picking up the firearm.  For firearms delivered via carrier, return shipments will be shipped to an FFL of the customer’s choosing.  The term “firearm(s)” is defined by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF Firearms Definition).

Online Firearms Purchases for Transfer at JP Custom Firearms

Firearms may be purchased online from retailers and sent to JP Custom Firearms as the FFL, for legal transfer.  Please note that some retailers will not ship to Home Based FFL’s and some retailers may not ship to our receiving facility.  It is always best to contact us prior to arranging delivery.  Pick up of firearms is by appointment ONLY.

Firearms purchased online, whether from JP Custom Firearms, or from another party and shipped to JP Custom Firearms, in accordance with the ATF, must be transferred to the actual buyer of the firearms.  If the actual buyer becomes ineligible to receive a firearm prior to the transfer of said firearm, it is the responsibility of the purchaser, or their agent, to arrange a return or other legal remedy.  In the event a item return, prior to transfer, is required, the purchasing party will be responsible to pay the transfer fee, and return shipping costs prior to shipment.  JP Custom Firearms will not be held responsible for Restocking/Return fee(s).

Standard firearm transfer fee rate is $25, subject to change.  Transfer fee of NFA items is $100, subject to change.

Firearms Storage Fees

Firearms that are not picked up within 3 weeks of delivery, or service completion, and without making arrangements with JP Custom Firearms, will incur a storage fee of $8 per week per item.  According to Minnesota State Statute 345.75, ownership of tangible property abandoned for six months shall, after 30 days notice, become the property of the holder.
